Arthur M. Blank Family Office - Construction and Demolition Waste Recycling

50% of all construction waste (by weight) was recycled for reuse in the construction industry. A portion of the recycled material was reused on the project. All waste material removed from the site was tracked to document its final destination (recycle plant, landfill, etc.). Hardin coordinated this effort very closely with the waste management company and the subcontractors. Separate dumpster containers were placed on site for the various categories of waste (metal to be recycled, wood for chipping/grinding, general waste, cardboard for recycling). Due to the volatile nature of the waste management industry, Hardin and the waste management company worked closely with local recyclers to monitor who was currently recycling material. During the course of the project, material had to be redirected to different recycling plants to react with the market conditions.
